BFAD is now FDA by the power of RA 9711
The Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) will now be known as the Food and Drugs Administration. The BFAD was renamed into FDA by the power of the Republic Act 9711 which was signed into law by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo last Tuesday in Malacañang, witnessed by some lawmakers and government officials.

2010 Philippine Holidays announced
Malacañang announced the 2010 holidays early to give way to the clamor of the business sector.
Pursuant to Republic Act 9492, which provides that holidays, except those religious in nature, be moved to the nearest Monday, President Arroyo signed on July 21, 2009 Proclamation 1841 declaring the special non-working days and special holidays for 2010.
