Employment opportunities for typhoon victims


Victims of the recent storms Ondoy and Pepeng will be given priority in employment expo which will be held on October 22 at the Market! Market! Mall in Taguig.

The Joint Foreign Chambers (JFC) will be having 3,000 available at the employment expo. Organizers, which are foreign companies, are looking ways to prioritize the typhoon victims.

Chairman of the Foreign Chambers Employment Expo 2009 and vice president of the Australia-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce, Chris Ward, said it is important for those who lost their belonging during the storm to be given an opportunity to rebuild their lives.

He said that the tragedy brought by Ondoy and Pepeng to the country has given the employment expo a new meaning. He also believes that many individuals from the typhoon ravaged areas are qualified to have a career with some of the companies who will participate.

50 foreign firms will joining in the said expo, comprising of different industries like business process outsourcing (BPO), health care, real estates, and telecommunications. Some companies will also do on-the-spot hiring.

The event which has started in 20087 was organized by The American, Australian-New Zealand, British, Canadian and European chambers of commerce.

So, for all our countrymen who were affected by the recent typhoons, and believed that you are qualified for the positions that will be offered – be sure to update your resume and head on to Market! Market! on October 22.
