Durabrand DVD players recalled by Wal-Mart


About 1.5 million Durabrand DVD players are being recalled by Wal-Mart because said products has the possibility of bursting into flames, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

There have been 12 complaints of DVD players overheating which were already received by Wal-Mart. Five of those have caused fires resulting to damaged in properties. No injuries were reported however.

The DVD recall have been initiated by Wal-Mart because of these complains. The units were imported from China and were sold at Wal-Mart stores from January 2006 through July 2009 for $29.

Wal-Mart advises consumers to stop using the DVD player immediately and return them for refund. These players came with a remote control and is silver with a U-shaped opening at the top to insert the DVD.
